Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica
In August 2015, I will begin a position as a Research Assistant at the Osa Conservation on the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica. I will primarily work with the Rios Saludables de Osa program, which trains and empowers community members to monitor and protect local streams. As an RA, I will have the opportunity to explore other projects including sea turtle conservation, sustainable agro-ecology research, wild cat corridors, and birding. I am very excited to explore the Osa Peninsula and integrate into a new community and natural environment. Through this position I hope to merge my skills and interests in scientific research and community development to learn about and help protect Costa Rica’s sensitive natural biodiversity.
